We're pleased to be launching our 2022/23 Health of the Sector Survey.

This is an in-depth survey which will help unlock the data and trends that underpin the helpline sector running from 8th December 2022 to the 28 February 2023.

By adding your data to this survey it means when you're reporting on your own call trends you'll be able to put these in the context of what's happening in the sector as a whole. You will be able to benchmark staff salaries and see best practice across the industry. Helplines Partnership can also use this information when campaigning on your behalf, for example on telephony costs.

Once this data has been analysed, Helplines Partnership will launch the 'Health of the Helpline Sector' report, reporting on trends in the helpline sector and how services have changed over the years. So you can benefit from the results of this survey, every organisation who responds will receive a free copy of the Health of the Helpline Sector report as soon as it's ready.

Please be assured that the information we collect will be held securely and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Your helpline will not be identified in any way in the report(s) which will be produced from this questionnaire and no answers will be attributed to your organisation.

We expect that some of the information we ask for may be held by different people within your organisation. You can return to the survey link as many times as you like until it is complete, so you may partially complete the survey, and forward the link to colleagues as necessary until it is complete.

Taking the survey

The survey will take some time to complete, but you can speed up the process by having all the information in front of you before you start. You'll need to have the following information to hand:

* Phone bills

* No of staff and volunteers

* Helpline budget and organisational turnover details

* Details of the sources of your funding

* Salaries of key staff grades within your helpline

* Statistics on your call and contact volumes across phone, SMS, email and instant messaging if

applicable

* No of unique users of your services
