We will be opening nominations for our Helpline Awards 2023 on Thursday 3 August to all HLP members.
Following this date, members will have six weeks to complete their nominations before we send through to our judges to make their decisions.
The closing date for nominations will be Monday 18 September 2023 5pm.
The Award categories this year will include:
Staff Wellbeing Support Award
This brand-new award will be presented to a helpline organisation that has supported their employees and volunteers' wellbeing in a particularly impressive, dedicated manner.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning organisation will include a beautifully designed award, 20% reward against the following year’s membership fees, a specially designed logo for the winner to include on their website and email signatures, a blog post on HLP’s website during the next 12 months, a social media spotlight post during the next 12 months, highlighting the winning organisation, and an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme.
Volunteer of the Year Award
This award will be presented to a volunteer at a helpline organisation who has gone above and beyond to provide a fantastic service within their role, and has helped their organisation deliver a better overall offering.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning Volunteer will include a beautifully designed award, a free place on one of our one day training courses, a bouquet of flowers, an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme, and a social media spotlight post, at the winner’s discretion.
Innovation and Futureproofing Award
This brand-new award will be presented to an organisation who have taken steps forward to ensure they are using new innovation in their helpline to futureproof the service, be this technical or organisation-led.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning organisation will include a beautifully designed award, 20% reward against the following year’s membership fees, an invitation to present at a Member Space Event, a specially designed logo for the winner to include on their website and email signatures, a blog post on HLP’s website during the next 12 months, a social media spotlight post during the next 12 months, highlighting the winning organisation, and an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme.
Employee of the Year Award
This award is aimed at an outstanding employee whose commitment to their role, their helpline and its service users, as well as their organisation as a whole sees them as an invaluable part of their team and somebody who deserves real recognition and thanks.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning Employee will include a beautifully designed award, a free place on one of our one day training courses, a bouquet of flowers, an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme, and a social media spotlight post, at the winner’s discretion.
Mentor of the Year Award
This brand-new award is aimed at somebody who has provided strong mentorship to others within a helpline; be it a team leader, volunteer, manager or any colleague. You can nominate somebody within your helpline, or on another helpline - who has mentored in a formal or informal capacity.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning Mentor will include a beautifully designed award, a free place on one of our one day training courses, an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme, a blog post to encourage other potential mentor / mentee relationships, and a social media spotlight post, at the winner’s discretion.
Lifetime Service Award
This brand-new award will be given to someone who has dedicated much of their life to working on a helpline - or within the helpline sector as a whole.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winner will include a beautifully designed award, a bouquet of flowers, a gift voucher to the value of £100, an invitation to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme, and a social media spotlight post, at the winner’s discretion.
Helpline of the Year Award
This award will be given to a helpline whose commitment to best practice, dedication to service users, and thriving, organised internal teams and processes left them delivering a first-class service.
Prize package: The prize package for this year’s winning Helpline will include a beautifully designed award, one year’s free membership of HLP, an invitation to be the Member Spotlight speaker at our next Annual Conference, a specially designed logo for the winner to include on their website and email signatures, a spotlight blog post on HLP’s website, quarterly mentions on our social media, highlighting the winning organisation, and invitations to be on the new HLP Member Working Group for 12 months and also to be a guest judge for our new ‘Member of the Month’ scheme.
