The Hertfordshire Domestic Abuse Helpline is a confidential anonymous support and signposting service for any caller affected by domestic abuse or domestic violence (victims, their friends and families, professional callers and people wanting to change their behaviour towards others). The Helpline offers detailed local, timely referral information, relevant to each individual caller. Information on HIV treatments for HIV-positive people, their families, carers and healthcare professionals. Publications include non-technical guides to combination therapy, hepatitis C co-infection, side effects and pregnancy and HIV. Produces a monthly bulletin for doctors. Hospitality Action is the trade charity offering a crucial lifeline to people of all ages, working and retired, from the hospitality industry. Offer a range of services to past and present employees within the industry. Support includes the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providing expert advice, support and assistance to those in crisis or need. The EAP is a confidential and fully managed scheme that includes advice and factsheets, managerial advice line, personal counselling (both via the telephone and face-to-face), critical incident and trauma support, legal information, financial planning and debt advice, addiction support, hardship grants where appropriate, whistleblowing service, mediation, bespoke training focusing on wellbeing in the workplace.

Advice and representation service for people with housing problems such as homelessness, rent arrears, tenancy problems, harassment, illegal eviction and threatened court action. Also provides specialist training and information to assist other advisors.

Howard League for Penal Reform

Confidential legal service for young people, including those in prison. An answerphone service is available and callers should make sure that their name, prison and prison number are clearly stated. Anyone can call the advice line if they have a problem that might have a legal answer. If unable to help themselves, the organisation will signpost to help through their access service. Professionals can also make a referral on the main number.

ICP Support

ICP Support

Confidential support and information Line to talk to someone about ICP. Our befrienders are not counsellors, nor can they make a diagnosis or give you advice about what to do. They can provide a listening ear and share what helped them get through an ICP pregnancy. Further support from ICP includes facebook groups and online Zoom meetings.

Independent Domestic Abuse Services (IDAS) - Domestic Abuse Helpline

Confidential out of hours helpline available to anyone, both men and women, who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse. The Team can talk to you about your situation and agree what support you need. This can include anything from helping you through the criminal justice system, giving you information on benefits and housing, providing emotional support or referring you on for counselling. Your safety is of paramount concern; the helpline Team will help you form a plan that will help you feel safer. Support can be offered on a one to one basis or in a group. If you don’t want to meet in person IDAS can also help over the phone or via email. Further support includes signposting to solicitors, counsellors and other specialist agencies.

Provide a comprehensive, tailored service for employers with a focus on improving the mental wellbeing of individuals and organisations. Can provide EAP counselling services including legal, financial, immediate and structured telephone counselling, face to face counselling and training services. Employers need to be registered with Inspire for employees to use the service.

Confidential helpline staffed by LGBT+ practitioners who work to our strong standards of confidentiality, client protection, and positive listening. The Team can offer a non-judgemental, listening ear, and can signpost to other services and relevant information depending on the issues presented. We can also offer further support through our own LGBT+ specialist services such as our Support & Advocacy team and low-cost counselling. We work with LGBT+ individuals of all ages, their friends and family, and other professionals and organisations that aim to be more inclusive in their practice.
