The helpline is available to any lone parent or organisation that works with lone parents in Scotland. Local projects in Dundee, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire and Maddiston, near Falkirk. Flexible Childcare Services in Dundee, Aberdeenshire, Fife and Angus. Single fathers' groups in Edinburgh, Dundee, Falkirk and North Lanarkshire.

Confidential Polish helpline providing help and emotional support to Polish women and children experiencing the consequences of domestic violence and abuse. The service is delivered and run by experienced and specialist bi-lingual Polish staff and volunteers. The Team can provide practical, educational and specialist assistance that supports women and children experiencing domestic violence and abuse and are isolated due to the fact they are from an Eastern European background and may have limited or no understanding as to how to gain or access support. Further support includes counselling, personal safety advice and guidance to safe accommodation, access to welfare and other statutory forms of support, assistance navigating the legal system, advocacy, outreach service, therapy, The Freedom Programme in Polish, mentoring, training, volunteering and placement opportunity.

Dedicated freephone male cancer helpline providing support for men worried about testicular, prostate or penile cancer. Helpline staffed by Orchid Male Cancer Information Nurse Specialists. Calls to 0808 80 numbers are free to call from landlines and mobile phones within the UK and do not appear on itemised bills.

OUCH (UK)

Provide support for sufferers of cluster headaches and their families. Support includes a helpline which is a 24-hour, 7 days a week, messaging-service. Please leave your name and telephone number, preferably a landline number, and your call will be returned as soon as possible. All calls will be returned between the hours of 10am and 2pm by one of the trained helpline team. The helpline is monitored throughout the day. If the call is of an urgent nature the Team will call as soon as possible outside of normal hours. Contact can also be made via email helpline@ouchuk.org. Further support includes regular newsletters, magazine, information leaflets, literature for those without internet access and regional meetings around the country. Website has a source of information and a contact area for those affected.

Oxford Nightline

Nightline is an independent listening, support and information service run for and by students. If calling from an Oxford (01865) number or a mobile, Nightline can call back. Aims to provide every student in Oxford with the opportunity to talk to someone in confidence. No contact is made with any outside agency, academic department or anyone else. Callers do not need to provide a name. The Team also has access to an information bank with details of taxi firms, addresses of clinics and bus or train timetables.

Provides information and support for people who live with persistent pain. The helpline is staffed by trained volunteers who provide information, support or a listening ear to people wanting to talk about their own pain or that of a family member or friend. Pancreatic Cancer UK

Pancreatic Cancer UK

Support Line staffed by pancreatic cancer specialist nurses providing information and support for anyone affected by pancreatic cancer including families and carers. The nurses can provide individual specialist information about pancreatic cancer, treatment options and managing symptoms and side effects. The Team can also listen to your concerns and provide support. The nurses aim to respond within 24 hours (or 48 hours if the enquiry is received over the weekend when the office is closed).

PAPYRUS - HOPELINEUK

PAPYRUS - HOPELINEUK

If you are having thoughts of suicide or are concerned for a young person who might be you can contact HOPELINEUK for confidential support and practical advice. HOPELINEUK is a specialist telephone service staffed by trained professionals who give non-judgemental support, practical advice and information to children, teenagers and young people up to the age of 35 who are worried about how they are feeling or anyone who is concerned about a young person. HOPELINEUK is free to call and free to text.

Parent Support Link

Parent Support Link

Supports and informs the family and friends of people who use drugs or alcohol. Provide a telephone contact line with a trained person. The main aim of the telephone contact line is to listen and discuss ways forward. Arrangements can be made for callbacks. Callers are provided with the name of a link person at Parent Support Link but are welcome to talk to any of the trained telephone contact line operators. Following on from a telephone call appointments can be made to meet with a trained Family support worker to have a face to face chat, assess needs and if appropriate start planning the way forward. PSL facilitate regular support groups providing the opportunity to meet with others in a similar situation. Can also provide respite and complimentary health care when appropriate. Signpost to other organisations.

Parenting NI regional Helpline offers a confidential, professional service for parents with any family difficulty or issues relating to parenting via the freephone helpline and or free face to face support delivered from a number of venues throughout Northern Ireland. Support and guidance can be provided on a wide range of issues including abuse, emotional problems, bullying, effects of separation and or divorce. Can also provide programmes for parents that enable further educative and supportive learning within a group setting on parental issues.
