Helplines Awareness Day 2026

It's Helplines Awareness Day and we're celebrating all week.

Join us for Developing in the Dark - a powerful photography exhibition illuminating stories of support and raising awareness of the vital role helplines play in offering understanding, advice and connection when it's needed most.

The online and in-person galleries are now open. Take a Look...

In partnership with Rachel Brewster-Wright from Little Vintage Photography we are proud to present this powerful portrait project.

The exhibition features portraits of people whose lives have been transformed through the support of helplines. Each image is accompanied by a short reflection, sharing how reaching out for help made a difference.

Exhibition details:

Location: The Shed, Baltic Creative, 49 Jamaica Street, Liverpool, L1 0AH

Walk-in viewing:

Monday 23 February, and Wednesday, 25 February 2026: 9am – 5pm

Special evening view:

Wednesday 25 February 2026: 6pm – 8pm

There's still time to get involved

Submit a Story

We’re inviting you to contribute stories to be included in the online Developing in the Dark exhibition.

Would you like to be part of Developing in the Dark? There's still time to submit a photograph and story to be added to our blog and shared on our social media channels this week.

Your submission should include:

  • A photograph—this could be a portrait or, if the participant prefers to remain anonymous, something more subtle such as a silhouette or hands. This is a creative project, and we’re open to creative approaches.
  • A short written story (up to 250 words). Short paragraphs, bullet points, or a more reflective or creative style are all welcome.

The more stories we can share, the greater the collective impact in raising awareness of the helpline sector.

Other ways to get involved:
