West Lothian Women’s Aid’s support line focuses on providing information, emotional support, and safety advice to women experiencing domestic abuse. It is a specialist helpline aimed at helping women understand their options, stay safe, and access further support services.
Our helpline provides confidential, non-judgmental support, information, and guidance to individuals who need help, reassurance, or a safe space to talk. We offer a listening ear, practical advice, and access to further services, ensuring that every caller receives compassionate and appropriate support based on their circumstances.
The helpline exists to: Offer immediate emotional support, Provide clear, accessible information, Help callers understand their options, Connect people with specialist services, Promote safety, well being, and empowerment.
We support anyone who: Needs someone to talk to, Is experiencing distress, uncertainty, or crisis, Requires information about available services, Wants guidance on next steps, Is concerned about a friend, family member, or colleague.
What We Provide Emotional support: A calm, understanding space to talk, Information & guidance: Clear explanations of rights, options, and available services, Practical advice: Steps callers can take to improve safety or well being, Signposting: Directing callers to relevant local or national services, Crisis response: Support in urgent or high‑risk situations, including safety planning.
