Bardet-Biedl Syndrome UK

Provides support, advocacy and information services to adults and children with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, their families and carers. Support includes through diagnosis, health transitions and treatments. Further support includes information and booklets, annual family conference weekend, activity breaks and trips, young people and adult groups and newsletter. Calls to a 07 mobile number typically cost between 10p to 20p from a landline and 3p to 65p from a mobile.

Barnardo's - Boloh helpline

Barnardo's - Boloh helpline

Helpline for Black, Asian and minority ethnic children, young people and families providing culturally informed and sensitive advice, signposting, advocacy, emotional support and free therapeutic support. The helpline also supports Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) and their families to successfully settle in the UK and will offer advice on a range of issues, including but not limited to, housing options, accessing education, welfare benefits, integration and resettlement. Further assistance includes emotional support and six free sessions of psychotherapy delivered by qualified Barnardo’s therapists, practical support such as food vouchers and access to digital devices.

Ukrainian Support Helpline providing an holistic support service for those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. Support includes therapy with a qualified psychotherapist – delivered via the phone or online, with access to interpreters, advice on a range of issues e.g., housing, accessing key health services, education, employment and more via our trained helpline support workers and practical support including access to digital devices to ensure families stay connected to loved ones during this worrying time, as well as stimulating toys for children, vital baby items and more. All services include access to interpreters in Ukrainian and Russian.

Beat also provides training, resources and consultancy. Support and encourage research into eating disorders and challenge stereotypes and stigma. Telephone support and information for people with Behcet's disease, a chronic condition causing inflammation of smaller blood vessels. The helpline is run by volunteers and the answerphones may be used at certain times. Callers who leave a message are contacted as soon as possible. Please note that the Team do not deal with emergencies and are unable to give direct medical advice. In case of emergency please call a doctor. Further support includes information leaflets and factsheets, support groups and events.

Can also support others who are worried about someone as well as survivors of abuse themselves. Helpline Team can also signpost and support with information about housing, legal and financial matters, council and other services related to domestic abuse. Further support from BWA includes accommodation and outreach services and programmes to deal with the immediate needs of survivors and their children.
