We are delighted to launch a new series of exclusive member events, created to foster growth and shared learning across our community. Our opening session features STAMMA, who will guide us through talking with callers who stammer.

Did you know that at least 1% of adults stammer, and up to 8% of children stammer for at least a while? In this session, you'll find out what stammering is, and how typical ways of working may be creating barriers or preventing callers who stammer from using your service or organisation. For example, did you know that 83% of people who stammer find it difficult to say their name?

We’ll hear from a panel of people who stammer who’ll share their experiences of speaking on the phone and what they find helpful and unhelpful. You’ll also get useful resources and tips on easy ways you can make a difference so that your service is stammer-friendly!
