National helpline providing specialist information and signposting to help patients, their families and carers, make sense of the world of health and social care. The team can provide guidance on all aspects of the health and social care system, including how to make a complaint, access medical records, and change GP or dentist. Provides support and information to people affected by autoimmune liver disease Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), their families, carers, health professionals and friends. The helpline is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has been used by those suspecting they may have PBC and are looking for assistance in diagnosis, newly diagnosed patients looking for information, carers looking for support, Foundation members whose PBC has progressed or changed and also family members who have a loved one going through end stage liver disease looking for support and also practical information at a most difficult time. Host a wide range of events which include members’ meetings, self-management sessions and medical conferences.

Helpline providing support and information to people affected by or at risk of pelvic radiation disease. Support covers access to information, identification of appropriate medical help, contact with others who have shared experiences. Further support includes online community to share experiences, ask questions and learn from others. Alongside the online community, PRDA is now hosting regular virtual support group sessions where people can share their experience of Pelvic Radiation Disease in a supportive and informal group. People Know How - Connecting Scotland digital support helpline

People Know How run the Connecting Scotland helpline, providing over-the-phone support to use digital devices for anyone in Scotland. We can help with using devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktop computers, connecting to the internet, navigating the web and social media, completing everyday tasks online, connecting with the community, family, and friends, managing finances, and saving money online, reducing costs (energy providers, data plans, etc.), finding opportunities for education and employment and feeling less isolated.

POhWER - HertsHelp

POhWER - HertsHelp

HertsHelp provides practical support, guidance and information to anyone living in Hertfordshire who has a question or faces a problem. There are over 300 organisations throughout the county who are in the HertsHelp network willing to help and advise. Some are council departments and some are emergency services, but the majority are voluntary organisations able to provide a wide range of advice and support. The service is free and completely confidential. HertsHelp is an initiative of Hertfordshire County Council and NHS Hertfordshire and the service is hosted by POhWER.

Confidential support line providing information and support for individuals to reduce the harms caused by prescribed drugs (Benzodiazepines, Z drugs (‘sleeping pills’), Gabapentinoids, Opioid painkillers) associated with dependence and withdrawal through a wrap-around service of one to one therapy, group therapy and a telephone support service. Support includes a Telephone Support Service which is talking therapy which includes a tailored assessment and recovery support plan, weekly counselling for 20-30 minutes, and a listening support service. Further support includes a face to face therapy service, tailored assessment and recovery support plan, ongoing support from a specialist practitioners, counselling and group therapy. PostScript 360 also offers an advocacy service, liaising with GP’s and health services. This service is available for people who can attend Gloucester House at Southmead Hospital. The line has an answering machine facility 24/7. If there is no one available outside core hours (10am-4pm) callers are advised to leave a contact number and a Support Line worker will call back.

Provides signposting, information and advice to parents and carers, grandparents, teachers and other professionals about the social, emotional and learning needs of children with high learning potential and how this impacts on the family. This includes gifted and talented children, bright children with a disability and those with social and emotional issues ranging from bullying issues to mental health problems. There is an interactive website providing a range of support for children, young people, parents/carers and professionals. The organisation also runs workshops, training courses and events for all these groups.

Pregnancy Sickness Support

Pregnancy Sickness Support

Offers support to sufferers of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy and its severe form, Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The Charity can provide information on treatments and coping strategies, employment issues, oral hygiene, mental health issues, eating advice, recovery and more. Further support includes one-to-one volunteer support network for women with hyperemesis and online forum where sufferers can access support from a number of trained volunteers at almost any time of the day or night. Pregnancy sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum can be challenging for the partners and loved ones of sufferers. PSS has developed leaflets and information for carers and partners and carers can register with the forum to access specific areas. Further information, support and training for Health Care Professionals is also available from the charity. Aim to return all messages within 24 hours during the week where possible. Messages left over the weekend may not be responded to until Monday morning.
